Palisade Traverse

Join Valhalla Mountain Guides for the most beautiful traverse in the Sierras. The Palisade Traverse climbs the skyline ridge between Thunderbolt Peak and Mt. Sill. During the climb you summit 5 California 14ers. These include: Thunderbolt Peak, Starlight Peak, North Palisade, Polemonium Peak, and Mt. Sill. This multi-peak climb offers some of the most stunning alpine terrain in California's Eastern Sierra, combining technical rock climbing, breathtaking scenery, and a sense of accomplishment that only the Palisades can deliver.

Our AMGA Certified Alpine Guides will lead you across the rugged ridgelines. As this trip is very technical you can rest assured you won’t have an “AMGA Trained Guide” you will have a fully certified AMGA Alpine Guide. This is the highest credential for Alpine Climbing in the World. With their deep knowledge of the area, you'll experience the traverse safely, with thorough preparation and support every step of the way.

This guided climb is designed for experienced climbers who are comfortable with fifth class rock climbing, as well as the physical demands of high-altitude. This trip is done over 4 days and we spend one of those nights camped along the ridgeline during the traverse. This makes packing very important and light weight gear necessary.

This is the most rewarding climb in all of the Sierra Nevada. Expect stunning views, up to 5.9 rock sections, and an unforgettable sense of achievement when you reach the final summit.
