About

After spending his 20s pursuing a successful career in music with the heavy metal band Whitechapel, Ben eventually planted roots in Reno/Tahoe, NV. Stepping away from what he had dedicated much of his life to left him searching for a new sense of direction and purpose. Realizing he was living near one of the great hubs of American climbing and backcountry skiing, he dove headfirst into the mountains—discovering a renewed sense of exploration, adventure, and meaning.

Ben’s early experiences in the mountains were nothing short of profound, completely shifting his trajectory at a time when life felt uncertain. As his skills in the hills developed, he began sharing the joy of rock and snow with friends—taking them on their first multi-pitch climbs or ski tours in the Tahoe backcountry. Seeing his friends’ eyes light up the same way his had during those formative experiences helped him realize his new purpose: sharing the mountain environments that reshaped his life with others.

Today, as an AMGA-trained mountain guide and AIARE avalanche educator, Ben is able to live out that dream. He continues the cycle of mentorship and education within the mountain community that once supported him, bringing passion and care to every day in the field. Ben is deeply invested in his guests’ learning experiences and committed to delivering the highest level of professionalism, client care, and risk management.

Having once been a guided client himself, Ben brings a unique perspective to his work and understands firsthand what makes an exceptional experience in the mountains.
