Ama Dablam Speed Summit
Ama Dablam is highly regarded as the world’s most beautiful peak. It is a Himalayan giant that holds a similar prominence to the Matterhorn. At 22,349 ft above sea level, Ama Dablam is a technical mountaineering achievement. Our Speed Summit program allows us to climb to the summit in half the time of a normal expedition. We utilize Hypoxico High Altitude simulators prior to our departure to get acclimated before arriving in Nepal.
Steep on all sides it is truly regarded as one of the gems of the Himalaya. Ama Dablam means “Mother’s necklace”; the long ridges on each side like the arms of a mother (ama) protecting her child, and the hanging glacier thought of as the Dablam, the traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. For several days, Ama Dablam dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to Mt Everest base camp and Khumbu region. Ama Dablam expedition offers a superb, technical climbing experience in a magnificent setting.
Our Speed Summit Ama Dablam expedition is 14-days round trip from Kathmandu. This is perfect for a small dedicated team utilizing the Hypoxico pre acclimatization system. We are excited to offer this once in a lifetime opportunity to summit the most striking mountain in the world.
